GOOD WORKS Submitted by Tommy Ramsey II Timothy: 3: 16&17 . All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. There is a difference between work and good works. The devil would like to make you come down from a good work to a compromised work. When Sanballat had sent for Nehemiah to come down and do unto him mischief, Nehemiah sent them word back saying, Neh 6:3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you? When I was a young teenager, I worked for a farmer, and in the fall after the work began to slow down, he would go off about three days leaving me to work cutting brush or digging ditches. However I found that I could fool him by just taking it easy for two days, then by working hard the third day. What I never thought of was what if he would have returned early when I wasn't expecting him. Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. The parable of the vineyard that a certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came and sought fruit and found none. Luke 13:7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? When the keeper wanted to work with the tree, why had he not done it before. Why do not preachers work more concerned with God's work, and tell the people that He is coming soon, after a bride that has separated it's self from the world's mind. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 2 Tim 2:15-16 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. So let's be as Jesus told the man that ask him the first and great commandment; Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. You will not find time for unfruitful works, and if you are doing a good work, don't come down.
