Luke 8:16-18 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed: but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest: neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

The Apostole Paul instructed us to make our calling and election sure and if we did that we would never fail. Calling is defined as ones vocation, employment, profession or business. Election is defined as you are chosen. The Lord told Anias to go to Paul because he was a chosen vessel. Paul also instructed us to walk worthy of the vocation in which we are called.

I speak from my heart. For I know the scriptures just told us nothing is secret that shall not be manifest. When I think of my salvation I don’t think my salvation but our salvation. When I pray I don’t pray Lord help me, but rather Lord help us, Lord don’t just bless me but bless us, for in my heart I know we, our local church has a calling and that we are chosen for a purpose, God does have a plan and a purpose for everything.

I love the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1; To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven. I thought about this year’s seasons; this summer was very dry and now in the winter we have had an abundance of rain but the crops have already been gathered into the barn. Some people only got one cutting of hay; other gardens didn’t yield what they expected. I know God was in control of the rain. Maybe it was done because of the wickedness of the world, but I have said this to say to us all we have a season and a time for our purpose.

We can have a great crop if we sow, because whatsoever a man soweth that shall he reap. If we as individuals are not fulfilling our vocation (job) then our season will go by without the rain. Rain out of season doesn’t help the crops. And the scriptures told us those that hath not that which he seemeth to have will be taken. No wonder Judas hung himself. He had part of the ministry. What he seemeth to have was taken away. We have to break through. It’s not up to you or I; it’s up to us all.
