I know the Master of the wind.

One person's account of the 3 hurricanes to strike her area.

Dear Friends,

We are fine! Once again this storm was scary. If it wasn't for the wind and the rain, hurricanes wouldn't be so bad. I went grocery shopping today. I can now put some things in my freezer, because I have electricity! What a wonderful feeling. These hurricanes are so not welcomed here......

But.....
I must admit, they do have an air of excitement about them. Before you think I have gone mad, hear me out.

I have learned so much from these "acts" of God. Certain things I shall never forget! Charley, Frances and Jeanne paid me some rather violent visits in a span of six weeks. I can honestly say, they changed my life. One thing I learned is how selfish and spoiled I am. Turn my electric off and I feel such a loss of control. Did you know, without electricity you cannot use a washing machine, stove or air conditioner? My! You can't check your e-mail either!!!! It's the end of the world....... as we know it!

When the electric comes back on... you want to hug and kiss the first electrical technician in view! When the electric trucks come trudging down your street, it is much like a parade with people on both sides of the road, smiling, cheering and waving!! Ice is essential when you have no electricity! I stood in line with many others, waiting and waiting, and waiting for a chance to get ice and water. After getting what I stood in line so long for, it was like winning the coveted prize, knowing those who have not received, are looking so enviously as you walk away! While in line, all you can think of is, ... "I HOPE THEY DON'T RUN OUT BEFORE I GET MINE!!!!!! Did you know canned meats, Hormel beef stew and beanie weenies make for a wonderful meal!

I thank God for blessing me with the privilege of undergoing these tests of endurance. I am not joking! In the mist of the storms, I could see God in all HIS glory! HE is a mighty God! I saw HIM in the fierce winds and the torrential rains! Yes..... HE could have said, "Peace be still", but HE chose to go through the storms with me-to be a mighty tower and to keep me hid under HIS wings of safety! I sure do love Jesus!

With love to all of you,

Sis Brigmond
