Without the shedding of blood . . . . Mini-sermon by Timothy Spell And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without sheadding of blood is no remission. HEB 9:22 The structure of the Bible is incredibly intricate and helps to prove that no group of men could get together and write such a profound book. The sixty six books of the Bible were written over a two thousand year period, by over forty different men, from different backgrounds and cities. The Bible is consistent throughout and the books fit perfectly together. If one takes a step back and looks at one theme of the Bible, one will see a scarlet thread of blood woven throughout its text. How can themes in the Bible be so consistent if the many writers did not even know each other? The Bible is flawless because the hand of God penned it. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim 3:16-17 The people of Israel had to make blood sacrifices for their sins, Abraham put his son on the altar, but God provided the lamb as a blood sacrifice. In Moses day, lamb's blood was painted on top of the doorframes and the people were kept safe from the passing death angel. Prophecies throughout the Old Testament foreshadow a coming Messiah who would come at an appointed time to suffer and be killed. Jesus is the Messiah and He came in to the world as a sacrifice to save the people from the death angel. He fulfilled the prophecies and was crucified in obedience to the Father for the sins of the world. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto Him and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29 Jesus was indeed the Passover lamb of the new covenant. For even Christ, our passover, is sacrificed for us. 1 Corinthians 5:7 The theme of
the whole Bible is a romance between God and mankind. God is longing to
fellowship with the people He created and He goes at no length to pursue
them. He provides them with animals to sacrifice, but He knew only a human
sacrifice would be sufficient to take upon the sin of mankind. He became
the sacrifice by laying down His life on a cross, so He could fellowship
with mankind once again ED. Timothy Spell is a wonderfully
