Perfection, is it Elusive?

Mini Sermon by C. E. Strain

We all seek for perfection. The perfect home, a perfect marriage, perfect friends, a perfect job, perfect children, a perfect grade, classmates, etc. The closer you get to perfection, the more you realize that there is nothing on earth that is going to be perfect. They are all created by man. But God's kingdom is greater. God's kingdom is perfect..

Jesus said, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Mat 5:48

If you look to this world for perfection, you will be very disapointed.

For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.
Eccl 7:20-22

So, how can you enjoy life with it's imperfections?

You can have perfect peace!

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

There is no amount of thought that will change anything in your life, but God can give you peace in your thought life, so that you can do His will.

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Prov. 16:3

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. Prov. 16:1

It is important that we pray that our heart and mind is clear and pure. It is so easy to look at life and people thru our eyes and hearts instead of God's eyes and heart.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. Prov. 16:2

King David said.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:1

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Psalms 24:3-5
