KJV or MOV?

Mini Sermon by Craig Emerson Strain

This massage is just for ministers. It is a reminder that our inspiration comes from the Word of God which is the Bible.

We have had many Versions of the Bible released. KJV (King James Version), ASV (American Standard Version), YLT (Young's Literal Translation), TWB (The Webster Bible), and many more, but the latest creation is the version that is being used too much now. The MOV or My Own Version.

The MOV is showing up in Churches from people who feel so inspired by the breaking the "bread of life" that they don't even use the Bible in their services. It would be like Adam prophesying to Eve about the the great things that God was going to do in the future, but forgetting to tell her what the Lord said about the tree of life.

"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Gen 2:17

There are Ministers that never even open the Bible during Church. Do you suppose that they feel so much knowledge of God that they don't need His words any more? Do they feel that everything that they say is from God?

I remember several years ago, I was with some ministers that were fellowshipping together after an evening Convention service. Many people were blessed that night, but these ministers began to mention about seeing angels in the back of the Church. One asked the other "Did you see the angels?" And one by one each one said "Oh, yes". Well it came my turn to be a "part" of these men. And quite frankly, I didn't see any angels. So I said no! Of course I was esteemed NVS or "not very spiritual". But I didn't see any, nor was I going to lie just to fit in with the "spiritual" crowd.

I knew my walk with the Lord, in fact, I had just completed a 40 day fast only days before. I knew what it is like to have fellowship with the Lord. I saw no angels! Later that evening, as I opened my Bible to study, and the scripture just leaped out off the page to my heart,

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,Col 2:18
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Col 2:19

God's Word, the Bible, is all you need. David said, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psa 119:105

Take away the Bible and what you have is false teachings and false doctrine. Some false doctrine that has been preached over the years is: No return of Jesus., Serpent Seed messages, Red Heifers ashes, etc. In each and every false teaching, it starts with someone trying to be "more spiritual" than someone else. They have received some great revelation that no one else has. They "know" something that no one else knows.

Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 1 Cor 8:1

Charity seeks not its own. It doesn't seek its own glory.

1 Cor 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
1 Cor 13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
1 Cor 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
1 Cor 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

1 Cor 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1 Cor 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1 Cor 13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
1 Cor 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

God took a simple fisherman named Peter and an educated man named Paul and made them equal in His Spirit. The same spirit moved in their hearts to write the letters as we know them in the Bible. The same inspiration in them is the inspiration of the Holy Ghost that God has given us.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim 3:16-17

It is God's word that will lead us to be more like Him. It is God's word that makes us one.

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Eph 4:4-6

You, as a minister, may preach the "bread of life". You may preach for hours because you feel so inspired. But we must preach from God's Word.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4
