Don't Give Up.

Pastor Phillip Fuller

In the Year of 2001, when the world was upside down with the bombing of the twin towers in New York, our family was also battling one of the greatest trials that we had ever had to face.

Three weeks before the bombing , our son Jon had a child born with Spinal Bifitia. The doctors had told Jon and his family that the baby could be mental retarded, severely handicapped, and many other things, but God really touched him (his name is Will), and he is normal in every way, except that he cannot walk. We are believing that God will completely heal him, but on September 7, Jon's 10 year old daughter, Kaylea was rushed to Winston-Salem Brenner's Childrens Hospital with AML Leukemia. The doctors started the strongest Chemo-therapy they could at that time, and told our family she only had a 25 - 30 percent change of any survival at all. The doctors said she had the worst case of AML they had ever seen in a child. This disease (the AML) usually effects the elderly.

They began her treatment and after three weeks of Chemo-they said she was able to go home for a few days, but the night that she went home, her fever spiked and she was rushed immediately to ICU where the doctors informed our family that she had gone into what they called "septic shock". this is where they say that every organ in the body is being shut down by a virus. the doctors then gave us less than 1% chance that our granddaughter would survive the night. Her heart did stop twice, but God brought her through.

During this time, she remained on a ventilator, and in a coma for 30 days. She also got a fungus in her lungs from the ventilator, and her doctors told us that no child had ever survived this disease. But thanks to God, it has been 3 years, and she is totally and completely healed.

Our granddaughter has the Holy Ghost, and had the Holy Ghost when she became ill. The entire time our Granddaughter was in a coma, she had 7 prayer cloths attached to her bedside, and in the middle of the night, we would be in her room, and she would be waving those prayer cloths to the Lord, and believing what she had been taught from the Bible; and that is that God can do anything if we believe.

Acts 19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:
Acts 19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

When Kaylea found out she had leukemia, she ask me, to call preachers that we had faith in and that we knew would reach God.

James 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

They sent these prayer clothes to her and she stood on What the Bible said. Kaylea was known at the Childrens hospital as the girl that believed in the power of prayer.

God has sustained her, and made our faith grow stronger in the Lord. I received a letter last week (Oct.25,.) from Kaylea's head nurse during the time she was in the hospital and it really touched my heart. She let our family know that she had quit believing in God, until she met our family and saw the faith that we had in God, and in each other. She said the day Kaylea went into the ICU, she left the hospital and for the first time in years prayed to the God she had forsaken.

Three years later, her father-in-law was stricken with the AML that Kaylea had, and she was able to give encouragement and comfort to her family because she was a witness to what God did for her.

Don't ever give up!

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

If you read this and you need prayer, e-mail me. I will lift you up by what God has done for us and for others because a 10 year old dared to believe. in God, and what God can do. We will pray this letter will uplift and encourage anyone that may read it.

Our prayers are with you.
