Faith, Hope & Charity Mini Sermon by C. Emerson Strain Faith, Hope and Charity. Three attributes, attitudes or aspirations that you should put forth in your life. Hope is the outlook that you chose in life. It is the window that you see all things through. Hope is how you think that things will work out. The world calls it optimism or the lack of hope, as pessimism, but we as Christians know that hope is actually what causes us to use our faith. When you come to a difficult time or problem in your life, satan will try to get you to loose hope. Get you into an attitude that you cannot see how you can get out of the problem. Try to get you to loose hope. Why hope? Because, hope is what starts your faith into action. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1 See, you first have to hope for something, before faith makes it into substance that everyone can see. No matter what the difficulty is that you face, don't loose hope. Hope is what causes charity to be displayed in your life. In the book of Corinthians it states that Charity, Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 1 Cor 13:7 It is hard to be charitable if you don't have any hope. It is hard to be faithful when you don't have any hope. Hope is the key to a rewarding walk with God. When trials and difficulties come in our lives, it is the hope for a better day that people see in our lives. But we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; Rom 5:3 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: Rom 5:4 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom 5:5 Hope is what leads you to pray for God to move in your life. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Rom 8:25 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Rom 8:26 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Rom 8:27 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28 Reading your Bible often builds up your hope. God can direct your paths and thoughts through his word. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Rom 15:4 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Rom 15:13 So whatever situation that your are facing, don't loose hope. God will not only move for you in your situation, but he can move for those around you if you don't loose hope. We had a friend in our Church go through a difficult time. She did not loose hope and the Lord moved for her and her husband. Click here to read her testimony. Don't loose hope.
