God's Divine Nature. "Be it unto me according to thy word." A Christmas Mini-Sermon by Craig Emerson Strain God never forces his will on you. He allows you to freely chose what direction your life will go. That tiny babe in the manger was the salvation of all mankind. Some people chose to worship him, others came to kill him. It was the choice they each made. But this sermon is about God's divine nature that he showed to us in the birth of Jesus. An angel of the Lord came to Mary, proclaiming God's great plan for mankind. And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luke 1:26-27 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. Luke 1:29 And the
angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. Now this was an angel sent from God to prepare Mary for what the Lord was going to do. God will always incourage you to do your best. He will never discourage you, He will always incourage you. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Luke 1:34 And the
angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee,
and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that
holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:35 God even reminded Mary of the miracle that he had performed with her cousin Elizabeth. Luke 1:36
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in
her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. But here is the beauty of the Scripture. This was God showing his loving kindness to Mary. God never forces His will on anyone. He left the final decision up to Mary! And Mary chose God's will in her life. Luke
1:38 And
Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord;
be it unto me according to thy word. And
the angel departed from her. God never forces his will on anyone. It is your choice to accept his will in your life. His perfect plan, His perfect will for you. All he needs is a willing heart. Be it unto me according to thy word.
