A Certain Woman. Written By C. E. Strain from a Sermon by Rev. Timothy Spells.
In the Book of Mark in the Bible, we find a certain woman. This is how each of us should be in our heart before the Lord. And a Certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, Mark 5:25-26 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Mark 5:27-29 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? Mark 5:30 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? Mark 5:31 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. Mark 5:32 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. Mark 5:33 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath mad thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Mark 5:34 Now, Jesus knows every problem and situation that your in. Jesus knew the problem that this woman was in. He only ask for the sake of those around him who it was that touched him. For the Bible says it was a Certain woman. Now we think that this was a specific woman. just like the Bible says: And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: Luke 12:16 And in Luke Chapter 16: And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods. Luke 16:1 And there was the certain rich man and a certain beggar named Lazarus in Luke chapter 16 verse 20. but this woman who had the issue of blood was not called a certain woman in the same way. See, she was called a certain woman not to distinguish her from others; she was called a certain woman to describe what type of woman that she was. She was a certain woman. She was certain that if she touched the hem of his garment, that she would be made whole! We should be a person that is certain that the Lord will answer our prayer. I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 1 Tim 2:8 We should pray with certainty in our heart, determination in our soul, that God hears and answers your prayers.
