THE ANT AND THE CONTACT LENS Afterthought.

By Craig Emerson Strain.

After reading the Ant Story, it brings to mind a little sermon or thought that the Lord had planted in my heart.

So often we want the Lord to "send us a blessing" or work something for our good, etc. But what about the joy of just being in His perfect will?

I think of the man in Luke Chapter 22 verse 10. It was custom for women to carry water in those days. But here was a man who got up in the morning and for some reason or other, he felt like getting the water and carring it on his head himself through the city. Little did he know that his path would lead Peter and John to a house where there was an upper room prepared for a passover feast. This would be the Last Supper!

Luke 22:7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
Luke 22:8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
Luke 22:9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
Luke 22:10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
Luke 22:11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
Luke 22:12 And he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
Luke 22:13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

Are you willing just to carry a pitcher of water?

Or what about the man who had an ass and a colt. He was standing in the market place and had a giving heart.

Mat 21:1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
Mat 21:2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
Mat 21:3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

We are always wanting a blessing to come our way, but are we willing to "be" the blessing.

Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

The account of giving can also be described with Rebecca in Genesis Chapter 12. This story will be in a mini sermon to be posted soon. Come back for this sermon.
