2. The Spirit of Holiness
Every Christian should begin to show forth God's holiness. Their choice of attire, the company that they keep, and the conversation that they allow, should all show forth God's holiness. Luke 1:74-75 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. Rom 1:3-6
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed
of David according to the flesh; Rom 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. Rom 6:22-23 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. 2 Cor 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Holiness is more than a choice of clothes purchased off of a rack at Walmart. It is an attitude and a dedication to glorify God in every way. Heb 12:14-15 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Next |
